Fix Frozen Applications on Mac
This guide explains how to address unresponsive or frozen applications on macOS devices.

Method 1: Force Quit Applications (Quickest)
Press Option (⌥) + Command (⌘) + Esc simultaneously.
The Force Quit Applications window will appear.
Select the unresponsive app (often marked in red).
Click the Force Quit button and confirm.
Method 2: Activity Monitor (More Detailed)
Open Activity Monitor (Applications → Utilities).
Locate the unresponsive app in the list (it might be red and say Not Responding).
Select the app, then click the Stop (X) button in the toolbar.
Choose Force Quit to close immediately, or Quit to attempt a graceful exit first.
Method 3: For a Completely Frozen Mac
Press and hold the Power button (or Touch ID button) for about 10 seconds.
Your Mac will shut down.
Press the Power button briefly to turn it back on.
If Finder is Frozen
Open the Force Quit Applications window (Option + Command + Esc).
Select Finder.
Click Relaunch.
