Onboarding & Deployment Guide

Purpose

This guide explains how to onboard and deploy the eSentire Nessus Agents Vulnerability Protection Solution, including key contacts, required setup steps, and configuration requirements.

Current Plan: Feb 10, 2026: MVS Tenable.io

  • 65 Assets

  • 1 virtual sensor

Notes: (Shah, Aamna, Fazil): Feb 10, 2026 w/ Danielle from Esentire

  • WordPress (GCP): should be able use Nessus Agent on GCP

  • External instances does not require Nessus Agent

  • Walk-through dashboard will be done initially

  • Atlas Portal (available to Fazil, Shah, Aamna)

  • Hasnain for HCI Website Server (separate user access - To be decided based on role: tenable, atlas). Has HCI email already hasnain@humanconcern.org

  • Feb 13, 2026 - 11am EST touch point w/ Danielle

  • Alerting email can be setup for DL (distribution list), under setting

  • Can add other domains (if required, but its best to not have multiple). Under Company Profile

Step 1: Schedule the Welcome Call

What This Is

A 30-minute welcome call to:

  • Review the deployment process

  • Set expectations for both teams

  • Answer initial questions

Action Required

  1. Confirm availability for the welcome call.

  2. Provide preferred time within the requested window.

Proposed Time Window

  • Date: February 10, 2026

  • Time: Between 9:30 AM and 1:00 PM EST

✅ This call is required before deployment begins.


Step 2: Set Up Access to the eSentire Atlas Portal

Purpose

The eSentire Atlas Portal is used to manage:

  • Service configuration

  • Authorized users

  • Ongoing vulnerability monitoring

Action Required

Provide details for your first Atlas portal user.

Important Notes

  • This user will receive administrator access.

  • The admin user is responsible for:

    • Understanding the service configuration

    • Managing authorized users

Mandatory Information

The following fields are required:

  • Full name

  • Email address

  • Mobile phone number

⚠ Mobile number and email are used for multi-factor authentication (MFA) when communicating with the eSentire SOC.

What Happens Next

  • The user account is created.

  • An Atlas portal invitation is sent to the admin user.


Step 3: Complete the MVS Configuration Worksheet

Purpose

The MVS Service Configuration Worksheet is used to:

  • Configure vulnerability scans

  • Schedule internal and external scanning

Action Required

  1. Open the provided worksheet.

  2. Complete all required sections.

  3. Return the completed worksheet to eSentire.


Step 4: Virtual Sensor Configuration (If Applicable)

Check Environment Compatibility

Determine whether your environment supports VMware.


Option A: VMware-Compatible Environment

If your environment supports VMware:

  1. Complete Section 2.1 – Sensor Build Information in the worksheet.

  2. Provide all required build details.

  3. Submit the worksheet.

✅ eSentire will build and deliver your virtual sensor.


Option B: Non-VMware Environment

If your environment is not VMware-compatible:

  1. Skip Section 2.1 – Sensor Build Information.

  2. Proceed directly to Section 2.2 – Scanning.

  3. Complete and submit the worksheet.


Step 5: Review and Confirm Deployment

After submission:

  • eSentire reviews your configuration

  • Scanning schedules are finalized

  • Deployment proceeds based on agreed settings
