Understanding Delivery Status
Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
Delivered | Email successfully delivered |
Bounced | Email rejected by receiving server |
Deferred | Temporary delay in delivery |
Rejected | Blocked due to policy or spam filtering |
Important Note About Open Tracking
Google Workspace does not show email open time or device opened in Email Log Search.
Email open tracking is only available if:
The sender used Gmail with read receipts enabled
Or a third-party email tracking tool was used
Email Log Search focuses on delivery and routing, not user open behavior.
Troubleshooting Tips
If you cannot find the email:
Confirm the correct sender/recipient address
Expand the date range
Verify the email was sent from a Google Workspace account
Check spam or quarantine logs if applicable
Outcome
Using Email Log Search in Google Workspace, you can:
✔ Confirm whether an email was delivered
